Alan’s musical career started on the Merseyside cabaret circuit at the age of 14. He went on to join ‘Louis & the Lettermen’ touring the UK and Denmark, who recorded their first single in 1989, produced by Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley. After working as a session guitarist in Denmark, in 1990 Alan joined ‘The Tambourines’. The band released 2 independent singles and toured Britain and Europe. Support tours included Echo and the Bunnymen, The River City People and The Real People. In 1995 Alan became the guitarist for The Real People, releasing 4 singles and the album ‘What’s on the Outside’. Support tours included Ocean Colour Scene, Paul Weller, Inxs, Oasis and Travis.

Tony’s career started in 1980 as bass player and songwriter with ‘Sebastian’s Men’, whilst promoting the single ‘Horizon’ he toured the UK and recorded a Radio 1 session. ‘Horizon’ reached No.11 in the independent charts. In 1985 Tony formed the ’16 Tambourines’. He signed a major recording and publishing contract with BMG/Arista Records, co-writing the album ‘How Green is your Valley’, 2 singles from which entered the national charts. The ’16 Tambourines’ headlined many UK tours and completed major stadium tours supporting Squeeze, Wet Wet Wet and Hue & Cry, making numerous appearances on TV and Radio including Radio 1 sessions. In 1990, with a new line up the ’16 Tambourines’ became ‘The Tambourines’ who toured extensively in the UK and Europe and had 2 independent single releases.

Mark’s career began signing his first record deal with ‘The Skyscapers’ for Zilch Records in 1979, releasing 3 singles and the album ‘Mad Hatters & Autumn Rain’ in 1980. In 1982 Mark fronted his own band ‘Cry Cry Cry’ which ended in 1983 when he moved on to form ‘Some Party’, performing his own songs. The band signed a management contract with London based ‘Nomis’ and recorded demo’s financed by EMI.

As a favour to a friend, Mark became a backing singer, which he did for about 2 years. The band ‘One More Story’ released their own independent album and toured the UK. Mark then joined ‘The Tambourines’ (with Tony and Alan) chasing the illusive record deal. Soon after, Mark joined ‘The Singing Ringing Tree’ signing a publishing deal with Warner Chapel and record deals with Sire, Elektra and ultimately Elton John’s Rocket Records. They played in New York and shot a video in Los Angeles before the band finished in the mid 90’s.
