Who Tribute Bands: The Whoo

The Whoo are an outstanding Who tribute band. They were formed in 2007 by Nick McCarthy (guitar) and Mark Pearsall (vocals) both of whom had performed in function bands for many years. They set about the task of recruiting three other like minded musicians and the band is now recognized as one of the best Who tribute bands in the UK today. The set is essentially a 'best of' with a big chunk of Quadrophenia thrown in for good measure. All the classic Who tracks are played with all the passion and drive that this incredible band became known for and it's 100% live. The 21 number set spans the decades and includes all the classics such as Can't Explain, Anyway Anyhow, The Seeker, The Real Me, Baba O’Riley through to You Better You Better You Bet.

The Whoo regularly play live music venues and festivals, theaters, corporate events and private parties. In fact, anywhere the music of The Who is appreciated. The band use top quality equipment and although they're not lookalikes, they do wear authentic stage clothing.

Reviews:
"I've seen lots of Who tributes and they've not all been good but I can thoroughly recommend these guys. While on stage they make it clear they're not out to look like Pete, Keith etc, more to replicate as best as possible what The Who sounded like live and this they do really well. Their singer in particular sounding uncannily like our Rodge. Their set included both the big hits from the early 60's and a big chunk of Quad tracks which really brought the house down" – Quad Night Review (Scootering Magazine)

"I wish to send my heartfelt thanks to you and the band for doing a fantastic job at the SVR Sounds of the 60's event. Utterly Brilliant! Well done to you all. I would also like to book the band to headline for next year's 60's weekend" – Severn Valley Railway (Sound's of the 60's)

"Just a quick note to say a massive thank you for playing at Gerry's party on Saturday night. Everyone has been talking about what a brilliant time they had and for those of them who had never seen a Who tribute band before or did not even know much about The Who's music, they absolutely loved you! you were brilliant" – (Private Party in Wales)

Cliff Richard Tribute Acts: Jimmy Jemain

Cliff Richard tribute acts don't get any better than this, Jimmy Jemain looks like him, sings like him, walks like him and talks like him. It really is quite extraordinary, people cannot believe that it's not actually Sir Cliff Richard himself performing. He even went to the same school. It all started way back in 1990 when Jimmy first appeared on ITV's 'Stars In Their Eyes'. He not only won his heat but was also invited back again another four times including the live grand final.

Jimmy has performed his tribute to Sir Cliff all over the world, in theatres, 5 star hotels and on luxury cruise liners. He has met Sir Cliff and The Shadows many times over the years and they have always been extremely impressed by his sincere and authentic tribute to the legend himself. Jimmy was cast to play Cliff Richard in the stage musical "Cliff – The Musical" in the West End which was a huge success. The show can be enhanced to include Hank and Bruce soundalikes or with a complete Shadows tribute band. Jimmy as The Shadow of Cliff, covers almost every hit record Cliff Richard has recorded and will try to incorporate any Cliff Richard song into his show at the clients request. From his first hit "Move It" to the latest album "Singing The Blues" (with The Shadows).

This is an outstanding show performed by the UK's No.1 Cliff Richard tribute act and I don't say that lightly, read the reviews, watch the video and see for yourself.

Reviews:
"Spot on, a bit too good" – Sir Cliff Richard

"His vocals are so accurate" – The Stage and Television Today

"Jimmy Jemain is a World Class performer, his tribute to Cliff Richard is very professional and portrays the love and respect he has for Cliff Richard, The Shadows and their music throughout the Decades"

"More like Cliff than Cliff" – Leslie Crowther

"If you like Cliff, you'll love Jimmy, he mealts hearts" – The Sun

"Very professional" – Bruce Welch

"Once again can I, on behalf of our group thank you for putting us in touch with Cliff Richard tribute [Jimmy Jemain] a very special tribute artiste. He is one of life's true gentleman nothing was ever too much trouble for him at our show. His tribute to Cliff was amazing, in our audience we had several ladies who have seen most of Cliff's UK shows and said Jimmy's tribute was brilliant and if they didn't know better they would have thought it was actually Cliff performing, that says it all. Would we book him again in the future, for a third time? try stopping us, magnificent, please pass on our heartfelt thanks for a stunning performance and his humble approach" – Ken Wilshaw (Show Organiser/Compere)

Cockney Tribute Acts: Cockney Doodle Do

Cockney Doodle Do are a fun Cockney tribute act. They were formed in 1992 by keyboard player Peter Morris and trumpeter Geoff Wilkins. They quickly found a hungry market for their unique performance style which is full of audience participation.

Peter's first professional job in the 1960's was with Eli Lanchester's Hawaiian Serenaders. Surviving this experience, he joined several dance bands and the successful rock 'n' roll band (The Conchords). Latterly Peter has been leading a Dixieland band and composing music for films, video and television.

Geoff Wilkins (songwriter/musician/entertainer) has had a varied career in the entertainment business and his songs have been recorded by artistes including Billy Ocean, Olivia Newton-John and The Dooleys.

Cockney Doodle Do are very much in demand by corporate and private clients alike. They perform popular Cockney songs, including some Chas 'n' Dave favourites in a very down to earth style.

Black Eyed Peas Tribute Bands: The Black Eyed Teaz

The Black Eyed Teaz are one of the UK's top Black Eyed Peas tribute bands. The live show covers all of the bands monster hits from their very first number one 'Where Is The Love' to the most recent dance floor fillers.

The Black Eyed Teaz was the brainchild of Ray who plays Taboo. As a gifted rapper, Ray thought long and hard about which artist he could do a tribute to, it needed to be something that would allow him to show off his vocals skills. Dizzee Rascal was quickly ruled out, Eminem was deemed past his prime and the less said about Vanilla Ice the better. Initially, he concentrated on solo rap artists but then he decided to explore the possibility of a band. Not just any band, but one of the biggest selling bands on the planet. Who else but The Black Eyed Peas, the search for other band members began in earnest.

After weeks of auditions and searching for the best vocalists in the country everyone was finally in place. They then set about the task of rehearsing a show that would be the envy of their peers. Unlike a lot of tribute bands, all four members of The Black Eyed Teaz are lead singers in their own right and each one brings something very unique to the table.

Sanjay Tailor who plays WILL.I.AM is a born entertainer, drummer, singer, songwriter and a rapper of some considerable skill and a great dancer too. Sanjay is a natural performer and has the ability to really connect with an audience and get them involved in the show. He's got the vocals and mannerisms down to a tee.

Samantha Vaughan is a fantastic vocalist and performer and has often been told that she is better than Fergie herself which is praise indeed. Having sung in many covers bands in the past, Samantha is totally at home on stage and plays the role of Fergie with great gusto.

Ray Gudge who plays Taboo in the band is a songwriter and rapper with his own ska/hip-hop project on the go and has performed all over the world in various tribute bands.

Tom is another talented songwriter and rapper who has his own hip-hop project too which is the perfect tool to use when he embodies the part of APL.DE.AP.  Another gifted performer, Tom has huge stage presence and boundless energy.

The Black Eyed Teaz usually perform as a 4 piece band with studio quality backing tracks but are able to expand the show up to a 7 piece live band including guitar and drums or even a 10 piece with brass players. The show is totally full on from start to finish and is enjoyed by people of all ages. So, if you're ready to get the party started, what are you waiting for?
