Abba Tribute Bands: Abba Fever

Abba tribute band (Abba Fever) are one of the most impressive bands on the tribute scene today, established in 1996 by the founding members, Steve on keyboards and Pat on drums.

It was important from the very beginning that this was not just another Abba tribute band of which there are many. This is an amazing, high energy show and best of all, it's completely live!

Live vocals and live 5 part harmonies, authentic costumes, musical brilliance and slick choreography help to make this one of the most exciting Abba shows in the land.

Buddy Holly Tribute Acts: Marc Robinson

Marc Robinson is recognised as the UK's No.1 Buddy Holly tribute act. He was the first Buddy Holly impersonator to ever perform on 'Stars In Their Eyes', he competed against 4000 other entrants.

Marc has also played at Glastonbury, the Brit Awards and appeared on telelvision numerous times for ITV and the BBC. It was an honour for him to perform on the same bill as Buddy Holly's Crickets, Marty Wilde and Joe Brown.

Other T.V. appearances include The Bill, Eastenders and Silent Witness. Feature films include Mrs Brown and The Fifth Element.

Marc was also the originator and founding member of two very successful theatre shows 'Rockin On Heavens Door' and 'In Dreams'. He has toured extensively both at home and abroad with his band 'The Counterfeit Crickets'.

As a performer bringing the personality and music of Buddy back to life Marc is truly exceptional. He has been a lifelong fan of Buddy Holly which is clear to see in his attention to detail, from the heavy rimmed glasses to his Fender Stratocaster guitar.

Marc can perform on his own in a unique solo tribute to Buddy dressed in authentic attire. He also looks so much like his idol that it's hard to tell the difference.

To quote The Stage Newspaper – "his vocals were uncannily true to the original"

Career Highlights Include:
Performing at The London Palladium 43 years after Buddy Holly did.

Playing on the same bill as Buddy's original Crickets.

Glastonbury Festival

The Brit Awards

Appearing in 2 feature films "The Fifth Element" and "Mrs Brown"

Touring with "Rockin' On Heavens Door" particularly St David's Hall in Cardiff and The Waterfront in Belfast.

Playing for Sir Paul McCartney at the MPL Buddy Holly week celebrations.

Taking the lead role in the touring production of West End musical "The Buddy Holly Story"

Reviews:
Buddy Musical Review
"Marc mirrors Buddy with a masterful performance. Marc has appeared in the films 'The Fifth Element' and 'Mrs Brown' along with television productions such as Eastenders, Casualty, Silent Witness and Dangerfield. He filled the theatre with nostalgia, his performance recreated an era of escapism in which the audience was sucked. The finale featured big songs by Buddy the Big Bopper and Richie Valens – a glittery and glamorous set with a flashy atmosphere even those who are not fans of Buddy may become so by the end of the show"

Country Music News Magazine
"Led by a bespectacled Buddy Holly lookalike they did convincing versions of all the best known songs recorded by the legendary rocker. The audience spanning three generations enthusiastically applauded them all. At the end they demanded and got an encore. Nostalgia may be a thing of the past but while the likes of these lads are around Rock 'n' Roll will not fade away"

North Essex Newspaper
"Following this came Buddy Holly alias Marc Robinson, a highly experienced performer who once appeared on ITV's 'Stars In Their Eyes', no doubt he has studied every detail of Buddy coming so close in sound and appearance to the legend himself that for one moment I truly believed this was the real man before me. His energy and enthusiasm shone throughout as he delivered numbers like "Peggy Sue" "That'll Be The Day", "Brown Eyed Handsome Man" and "Think It Over"

South Essex Newspapers
"The Buddy Holly act, after patiently waiting in the wings for 2 hours, set the house alight, well choreographed movements allied to excellent musicianship rolled out lots of recognizable hits"

The Stage and Television Today
"Marc Robinson picked up not only a silver grey suit and huge specs for the performance, but also a heap of confidence and charisma and whose vocals were uncannily true to the original. The group recreated the ballads and Rock 'n' Roll hits of Buddy Holly and The Crickets in a way that underlines their admiration for the shy young man whose talent was snuffed out all those years ago"

"Marc Robinson is well known as a Buddy Holly tribute but this is the 1st time I have seen Marc perform as a solo artist without his usual backing of The Counterfeit Crickets. All the classic Holly hits were featured in Marc's set, and all were performed with great attention to detail both musically and visually. On this performance it is no surprise that Marc is one of Britain's leading tribute artists"

"Marc Robinson and The Counterfeit Crickets. The white-suited Robinson bore a striking resemblance to the rock and roll hero which was made even more spooky by never allowing the character to slip throughout the set.  A great look, authentic sound and a great performance, they could handle the Buddy West End musical with ease"

Local Press:
"Marc sprang about the stage, a confident and authentic re-enactment of Buddy Holly swinging his guitar and rousing the audience to dance in the aisles. Well worth the journey to enjoy the spontaneous fun of this rip roaring evening"

"Those who have followed our local star Marc Robinson will be really pleased to know that his amazing performance as Buddy Holly has led him being given the lead role in Buddy the Buddy Holly Story on the Isle of Man. It begins its run on July 17th and goes on until August 9th so if anyone goes on holiday there, they will recognize a familiar face as they enjoy Marc's professional entertainment"

"Buddy band set for world tour. Their act which is based on the music of Buddy Holly and The Crickets will be leaving this weekend to play five dates in Dubai, Bahrain and Oman. On their return they are playing a special amphitheatre concert in Spain"

The Scotsman
"Put another way when it comes to lookalike, soundalike, tribute performers Marc Robinson had the joint rocking. They don't write like that anymore, they should put a night like that on prescription and it would save the national health service a fortune"

Daily Telegraph
"An accomplished singer in his own right and where others would have sent up the original, he was mindful that imitation was the sincerest form of flattery"

Isle of Man Courier
"The Buddy Holly Story is filled with the hit songs that made Buddy Holly a star in the 1950's. Marc Robinson who has appeared as Holly in numerous theatre and concert productions takes on the lead role. Marc has studied him well and sings and moves like the star with similar charisma"

Buddy Holly and The Crickets Fan Club Magazine
"Marc slides on and straight into a medley of Peggy Sue, It's So Easy and That'll Be The Day. Along with everyone else I had a super evenings entertainment and look forward to the next time. If you have not seen the band I recommend that you do as soon as possible"

Arbroath Herald
"Buddy Holly (Marc Robinson) was note perfect particularly during the No.1 hit 'It Doesn't Matter Anymore', all the great songs were there – Peggy Sue, Heartbeat, It's So Easy and Rave On which started the dancing in the aisles"

The News (Central South)
"Marc Robinson's movements as Holly were as sharp as the crease in his trousers and it was pure chance that he bounced into Heartbeat just when Nick Berry was to be heard singing it on television, it just proved they don't make them like that anymore"

Gloucestershire Echo
"Next came Marc's immaculate Buddy Holly. He looked and sounded the part as he breezed through the inevitable Peggy Sue, Maybe Baby and Heartbeat in a crisply pressed shiny grey suit and those specs"

Normanton and Wakefield Express
"Buddy Holly gave a classic performance of the all American boy next door"

Skegness Standard
"Oh Boy! what a performance from Marc Robinson as Buddy Holly who had the audience raving on"

The Guardian
"It's easy to imagine Buddy Holly is alive and kicking when watching Marc Robinson in action"

Dolly Parton Tribute Acts: Kelly O'Brien

Kelly O'Brien is the UK's No.1 Dolly Parton tribute act although she's actually an Australian born singer, comedienne, dancer, actress and writer.

Country music has been her passion since the age of 14 and she has been a Dolly Parton impersonator since 2000 after winning first place in a highly prestigious talent contest held in Sydney.

The Dolly Show brilliantly captures the voice, personality and voluptuousness of the little lady from Tennessee. Dolly’s greatest hits combine with flawless comic timing in this extraordinary show.

Kelly is a world class entertainer with a stunning voice that captivates audiences with Dolly’s famous soprano in this must see show dedicated to the sound and style of Dolly at the peak of her career.

Kelly's performance is fantastic fun and much loved by Dolly devotees and debutantes alike.

Theatre credits include: a lead role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit musical 'Starlight Express'

T.V. appearances include: Gok Wan's How To Look Good Naked, Miss Naked Beauty and the X-Factor.

Kelly has performed for Nestle, British Airways and 7-UP

Reviews:
“She’s exactly like Dolly and her voice is just AMAZING!”

"Not sure who will read this but just wanted to give my personal opinion about Kelly's show. BRILLIANT! We've just come back from a week in Cyprus. There were several shows put on by First Choice and they were completely awful, not even good enough to be rejected by Britain's Got Talent. Then, on comes Kelly O'Brien (Dolly), a real treasure. I've seen many a tribute act and most have been laughable but as far as I was concerned we had Dolly Parton on stage. If you ever get chance to see her then you simply must. And for the record I'm not a big Country fan but I was completely blown away by a fabulous, funny and professional performance. Good luck Kelly for the future" – Tony Booth

Reviews:
"We were totally blown away with the outstanding performance that Girls Allowed gave at an event we attended recently. These girls are by far, one of the best tributes we have seen for a long time in the UK, they have style, charisma and above all they have real talent. With a look and sound of the real thing, they were able to keep a full house audience on their feet and dancing in the aisles during their performance. This fantastic tribute to Girls Aloud will certainly be around for many years to come entertaining audiences in the thousands and we wish them well" – Multimedia Entertainment's Group

"Not only are they stunning but these girls are the best act we have seen this year, they are going to go a long way – Pete Cross (PCA Ltd)

"Very professional and polished show" – Rob King (Corporate Event)

"Wow, these girls have come a long way over the past year. They were great the first time we saw them but now they are superb. Dazzling costumes and new songs, an outstanding performance – Jackie Fielder

"It is so refreshing to see a tribute of this kind where all members can actually sing! All five of these girls are very talented and they all sing the right parts for their character which will please die-hard fans. They also dance just like Girls Aloud with many of the same routines. This is what a tribute act is all about, very impressed" – Richard
